These works are inspired by the terrain, architecture and culture along the Mediterranean coasts of Italy, Spain and the Ballearic Islands. Focused primarily on materiality and texture, these pieces utilize primitive shapes and patterns, as well as gold dust and enamel, suggestive of the ancient and sacred arts throughout history. The use of gold in the decorative arts, dates back to the 4th millennium. Used to signify divinity and godliness, purity, prestige, wealth, the sun and stars, and even romantic love throughout human civilization, it continues to captivate us today, somehow still feeling fresh and modern.

“gold may be the most timeless and evocative material ever utilized in the pursuit of art and beauty. Creating marks and symbols, layers and patinas, makes me feel connected to the past. Gold is the element of the kings and queens of yesterday and of today. It is the original glam.”
